Gravity Flush Pans |
|
The economical way to move manure and wastes from hog farrowing, nursery, and gestation buildings |

Molded from high density polyethyene, the one piece 5' X 7' unit pan has no seams or joints to caulk or leak. It has a 1/2" slope from front to rear built in. The material is nonporous and won't absorb disease laden moisture, nor become pitted. It is easy to clean for improved sanitation and disease control. The narrow, rounded bottom channels insure that the liquids won't flow out around the solids; the real key to successful manure flushing. |

The big 4" diameter PVC sewer pipe installed under the Gravity Flush Pan outlet floats the manure out of the building every 3-4 days before gas and odors develop. Heat robbing pit fans are eliminated. Just pull the individual plug handles, no mechanisms, motors, or switches to malfunction. Approximately 28 gallons of waste will be flushed each time, more as the pigs grow. No special, expensive concrete floor construction is required for a new or updated facility. |

For easy installation, just bolt the adjacent support stands together with a leg at each corner. Drop the one piece 5' X 7' flush pans in place and bolt the outlet down pipes on to each flush pan. Stretch a chalk line along these outlets, under the flush pans, on a 1" in 50' slope and mark each outlet pipe accordingly. When cementing the drain "T's" in place, slide them up to the mark on the outlet drain down pipe. |

Lage Gravity Flush Pans are used under sows or nursery pigs. The heavy 2" bar support frame is under the Flush Pan, protected from the manure corrosion, and spaced 6" under the sow for strong support. The spacing is 9" and 10" on either side. The black plastic Flush Pan prevents pig harmful updrafts on the 12" clearance elevated decks. A sewer clean out provision is used at the upstream end for drain maintenance if ever required. |

For Nursery Deck installations, the same support frame as above is used for the base frame. Flush Pans may be used under the top stacked Nursery Pen as well as under the bottom pens. For the best performance, install the feeders on the opposite end of the pen from the Flush Pan outlet with the waterer nipple near the manure drain outlet end. The pigs' dunging habits will thereby result in most of the manure near the drain outlet. |

![]() Individual 3" ABS plastic gate valves may be used under each Flush Pan. Valve handle extensions are available for end to end nursery pen installations. |
One of the above two Flush Pan valve systems is necessary for the satisfactory operation of Lage Gravity Flush Pans. The liquid manure and waste must be held in the Flush Pans with the solids to insure that the solids don't dry out and adhere to the drain system. |
